Welcome to my culinary world! My name is Alex Melchor, and I am a passionate personal chef with over 20 years of experience in creating unforgettable dining experiences.


My culinary journey began in 2000, and I took a significant step forward when I graduated from Johnson & Wales University in 2004. This prestigious institution equipped me with the skills and knowledge to excel in the culinary arts, and I've been dedicated to honing my craft ever since. Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of working in some of the finest upscale restaurants and hotels, including The Palm, Marriott, Westin, and Hilton. These environments have not only refined my skills but have also taught me the importance of attention to detail and customer satisfaction. I specialize in both small and large-scale events, tailoring my menus to suit various occasions, preferences, and dietary needs. Whether it's an intimate dinner party, a lavish wedding, or a corporate event, I pride myself on bringing creativity and flavor to every dish I prepare.

My culinary journey began humbly at the age of six. Driven by a palpable impatience as I awaited the ripe figs from my backyard, I took the initiative to create my own unique dish. I gathered unripe figs, combined them with sugar and water, resulting in a simple yet

satisfying delicacy-figs in syrup. To a child this creation felt like a royal feast, a testament to my early appreciation for the transformative power of cooking.


In the year of 2000, I fully immersed myself in the vibrant world of gastronomy, embarking on a journey that would shape my culinary identity. Through a diverse array of professional cookbooks, culinary classes, DVDs courses, workshops and countless hours of practice, I gained invaluable experience that propelled my career forward. I transitioned from one upscale kitchen to another, learning alongside talented chefs who navigated the complexity of running a professional kitchen. As a self-directed chef, I hone my craft mastering the art of creating exquisite dishes that delight the palate. My journey also led me to esteemed establishments such as Marriott, The Westin, Kimpton and Hilton hotels in Charlotte NC, where I proudly earned my stripes as a chef, delivering outstanding dining experiences that left a lasting impression on guests. Each opportunity enriched my skills and deepened my passion for culinary excellence.


My culinary style is influenced by a blend of global cuisines, seasonal ingredients and commitment to quality. I pride myself on tailoring my menus to meet the unique needs and preferences of each client. Whether I'm preparing a cozy family dinner or an elaborate event, I focus on presenting dishes that are not only delicious but also visually stunning. When l am not in the kitchen, I love to explore new flavors, experiment new recipes, and connect with local farmers to source the freshest ingredients.
